About

I’m a data science executive with a passion for using AI, analytics, and user-centered design to solve meaningful problems at scale.

Since joining Aura Health in 2018, I’ve grown with the company from Senior Data Scientist to Head of Data Science and ultimately Chief Data Officer, building and leading the data science and analytics function while remaining deeply hands-on.

I’ve designed experimentation frameworks, shipped production ML systems, and partnered with PMs to improve engagement, retention, and conversion across the product. My work has spanned product analytics, causal inference, personalization, and AI-driven user experiences, from seed stage through profitability.

Previously, I founded and led the People Analytics team at WeWork, earning a 2018 Excellence Award within 8 months of my arrival. My background also includes leading research teams and teaching statistics and experimental methods as a professor and Chair of Anthropology at the George Washington University and as a research scientist at the Smithsonian Institution.

With deep roots in both tech and academia, I bring a unique blend of rigor, creativity, and strategic thinking to every leadership role I take on.

Outside of Work

I’m passionate about lifelong learning, science communication, and using data ethically to improve lives. When I’m not working, you might find me exploring the outdoors, mentoring rising data professionals, or diving into the latest advances in AI and behavioral science.

In my local community, I build and maintain trails, lead hikes and outdoor events, and advocate for our natural spaces as Co-President of the El Cerrito Trail Trekkers. I also serve on the Board of the El Cerrito Fire Safe Council, working with our neighbors, the city, and regional partners to reduce wildfire risk and make our community safer.
